Civics knowledge of high school seniors dropping

WASHINGTON, D.C. (USANN4)–A new report says that high school seniors’ knowledge of civics has dropped.   The assessment known as the Nation’s Report Card indicates that since 2006, overall average scores and those for female 12th graders have decreased.   However, scores for Hispanic, American Indian, and Alaska Native students have improved.

Among all high school seniors, 64 percent showed basic knowledge of civics.   That was measured by things such as the ability to interpret a political cartoon.
