David Ives’ short plays on tap at Stagehouse Theatre on campus

GROSSMONT COLLEGE (Press Release)–The Theatre Arts Department will present Time Flies and Other Short Plays by David Ives, Directed by Beth Duggan, Dec 2-4 and 8-11, at 7:30 pm and Dec 4 & 11 at 2 pm in the Stagehouse Theatre.

“Don’t miss out on this collection of witty and wildly original one-acts teeming with hilarious characters pondering life’s metaphysical questions,” says Judi Shenar, theater operations facilitator.  “Two mayflies on a date realize that they have a mere twenty-four hours to live and decide to seize life completely; two Babylonian blue-collar workers have to build the Tower of Babel; three chimps are locked in a room and made to re-create Hamlet; and two women fashion a funeral breakfast out of thin air. “

“David Ives (is) perhaps the funniest writer of short plays in America today,” according to The Columbus Dispatch. No food or drink permitted in the Theatre. Children under 10 years of age not permitted in the Theatre.
