U.S. creates website for students traveling abroad

WASHINGTON, D.C. (USANN4)–Spring Break is just around the corner.   And, the State Department is looking to help out those students who plan to travel abroad.   The federal agency has established a web site, http://studentsabroad.state.gov/   The site provides useful safety and travel information for parents and students.

The State Department also encourages all U.S. citizens going abroad to sign up for the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program, or STEP.   Enrollment in STEP allows the agency to contact a student traveler in the case of a family emergency in the U.S. or because of a crisis in a foreign country.
