BOULDER, Colorado (USANN4) — The University of Colorado has acquired hundreds of hours of recordings of big band radio broadcasts. CU’s Glenn Miller Archive also has obtained photos, magazines, documents, and other memorabilia from a private collection. The school has about 1,400 reel-to-reel tapes of jazz and big band musicians including Miller, Louis Armstrong, Tommy Dorsey, Count Basie, and Duke Ellington.
The cost to obtain the recordings was not disclosed. University officials say all the money came from private donations.
