GROSSMONT COLLEGE – The Career Expo, a main feature of Career Week, kicked off Wednesday morning. The Expo showcased several of the more established departments at Grossmont College as well as other employers around the county looking to spread the word and recruit possible prospects.

Ranging from Law Enforcement to Entertainment establishments to Nursing programs, the Career Expo job fair had students interested in all sorts of professions inquiring to professionals about job prospects. Jennifer Carmean, the Program Director for the ASL (American Sign Language) department, proudly shared that her department, “had our first Associates graduate this spring.” She said this illustrated that Grossmont College keeps up with the latest career choices, especially when it comes to breaking the language barrier.

Bustling with activity, the Grossmont campus quad filled up throughout the day as students visited different booths or browsed as they passed by heading to their next class. At each booth students could be found firing off questions regarding two of the most important factors for college students, employment and educational opportunities.

Some of the highlights of the day were the live events which took place in between the booths. Fencers and Dancers alike showed off their skills.
