Campus briefs: blood, suicide and scholarships

Campus blood drive planned

GROSSMONT COLLEGE –San Diego Blood Bank will be conducting another blood drive on the Main Quad from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 8, and from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 9.

Poster youth for the drive is Trevor Norby of Carlsbad, who is getting ready to enter San Marcos High School following a bone marrow transplant in August at Rady’s Children Hospital.  Prior to the surgery, Norby suffered from Aplastic Anemia complicated by paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria.

The Blood Bank urges members of the Grossmont community to “please donate blood to ensure that patients like Trevor have blood available when their lives depend on it.”
