SAN DIEGO (Press Release)– Select musicians of the Grossmont Symphony Orchestra and Master Chorale will give a pair of Christmas-themed performances on Tuesday, Dec. 13, and Wednesday, Dec. 14, at churches in San Diego and in Lemon Grove.
Featuring music of the Baroque masters, the 7:30 p.m. performances consecutively at All Saints Episcopal Church, 6th and Pennsylvania, and at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church, 8086 Broadway, Lemon Grove, will feature professional soloists Michal Dvoskin (violin), Martha Howe (contralto), Matt Kirk (tenor), Audra Naby (soprano), William “BJ” Robinson (baritone) and Pauline Tweed (soprano).
The program at both locations will include Schutz Choruses from the Christmas Story; Biber Myster Sonata No. 1; Corelli Concerto Grosso Op. 6 No. 8 “Christmas Concerto”; Handel “For Unto Us a Child is Born” from Messiach; and Bach Magnificat BWV243.
