GROSSMONT COLLEGE (Press Release) — Jeff Baker, interim vice president for student services at Las Positas College in Livermore, California, has been named by Grossmont College President Sunita V. Cooke to the vice presidency for student services here, pending approval by the District Board of Governors on May 15.
Prior to serving for 2 1/2 years as an interim vice president, Baker was an adjunct counselor and then served as Dean of Student Services at Las Positas College for five years.
While he was at Ohlone College, he served as the Director of EASTBAY Works One-Stop Career Centers for nine years as well as a VATEA Counselor at Ohlone College.
“So you can see that Jeff brings a wealth of experience in the variety of student services that he will oversee as well as a strong background in career training services that put people to work,” said Cooke. “He has direct experience in leading areas that provide high quality, equitable student services to our extremely diverse student population within California Community Colleges.”
