GROSSMONT COLLEGE — The Grossmont Griffins women’s soccer team took on and defeated San Diego City College Knights on Tuesday Oct 19, in weather that Game Manager John Rollo called rain “that you found yourself looking for a big baot with all those animals going by.”
The Griffins scored their first and only two goals in the first five minutes of the game. They were able to take advantage of this lead and knock the ball around to play keep-away for the rest of the game. The heavy rain made the field look like a lake and better for ducks rather than lady soccer players Rollo added.
There were three spectators total and the electronic scoreboard froze at 65:25 and remained at that time the entire time. Although the the times of the goals were unclear, they were scored by Tiffini Sperling and Ashley Schramm.
Their next and hopefully dry game is at Mira Costa on Friday at 3 p.m.
