GROSSMONT COLLEGE (Press Release)– Dr. Jerry Buckley has accepted the districtwide position of Senior Dean, Research, Planning & Institutional Effectiveness, it was announced by Sue Rearic, vice chancellor for business services. Dr. Buckley will assume his new position beginning December 1.
Buckley comes to his new role as Senior Dean for the district having served as Dean of Math, Natural Science, Exercise Science and Wellness at Grossmont College since 2006. He also served as a faculty member at Grossmont College from 1990 to 2006. For the past 15 months, Buckley also has been serving half-time as Interim District Director of Research while maintaining his role as Dean at Grossmont College.
Prior to his work in higher education, Buckley’s experience spanned 15 years in healthcare and clinical research, including the establishment of a research department and database system used to track investigational research drugs and devices. He holds a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences from the University of Southern California, a master’s degree in biology from California State University, Fullerton, and a doctorate in educational leadership from San Diego State University.
As Senior Dean, Research, Planning & Institutional Effectiveness, Buckley will organize and implement comprehensive institutional research and planning processes. In addition, he will lead district strategic planning and assist with the improvement of institutional effectiveness.
