Ernie Ewin, executive director of the Grossmont College Foundation, meanwhile reports that the drive to increase from 13 to 55 the number of perpetual $1,000 scholarships available on campus is on track.
The foundation has set as a goal raising $584,530 which, in combination with an Osher Foundation matching fund, would create a scholarship fund of $1.1 million, enough for 55 scholarships.
“Everyone — Chanceloor Cindy Miles, President Sunny Cooke, the Grossmont College Foundation Board members –are beating the bushes to exceed our initial goal,” Ewin stated in a news release.
