GROSSMONT COLLEGE –Dr. Wendy Stewart has been selected as the new Dean of Counseling and Enrollment Services, it was announced by Dr. John J. Colson, vice president of student services.
“Pending approval by the Governing Board at its October meeting, we expect that Dr. Stewart will begin in her new role on November 1st,” Colson said in a campus e-mail.
Stewart holds the Ed.D. degree from USC in Higher Education with a specialization in Higher Education Administration. Her M.S. is in Counseling from SDSU and her B.A. is in Literature/Writing from UCSD.
Colson noted that Stewart “has a wealth of experience in community colleges and Universities in California. She most recently served at Miramar College as the Transfer Center Director and previous to that at UCSD as an Academic Advisor from 1998-2005. She has worked in residence counseling at SDSU and has taught a range of PDC classes at Miramar as well as classes in Counseling and Research for National University.”
Stewart has chaired the Young Professionals Leadership Development Summit for the Urban League of San Diego, and served as President of the San Diego chapter of the National Pan-Hellenic Council.
