On Tuesday, February 11th Grossmont College started the first Spring 2014 Career Workshop/Seminar at The Griffin Gate here on campus. The first workshop that was featured this semester was called the “Occupational Outlook for 2014”, and was presented by the panel. The purpose of Occupational Outlook was to teach students to start designing their career paths, and learn about where to find decent jobs. The career workshops are events offered to students, so they can go to listen to helpful seminars and participate in several different types of workshops that could possibly shape them and prepare for future careers.
The Spring Career Workshop features many different types of job criteria, being featured this semester are San Diego Economic Trends, Entertainment and Marketing, Communication and Leadership, and also test taking and helpful studying habits. Students were also taught by special Grossmont College faculty members on how to properly build a resume, score an interview, job searching, how to dress/prepare for an interview and many other helpful tools.

Tuesday February 25 2014- “Train the Brain: Test taking and Study habits” Presented by: Dr. Theresa Ford. Time: 10:00pm-12:00pm
Wednesday March 12, 2014- “Entertainment and Marketing in the Digital Age” Presented by: Jim PapaGeorge, and Kelly Richardson
Wednesday May 7, 2014- “Communication and Leadership” Presented by Denise Schulmeyer. Time: 2:00pm-4:00pm
Tuesday May 13, 2014- “Tools to Land a Job” Presented by Nancy Davis and Pamela Benge
