    Master Dance Class Series

    IMG_0773

Something most students don’t know about on campus are the Master Dance Class Series that are offered every semester. The master dance classes are an amazing opportunity to practice and focus on a particular type of dance. Dancing can provide a wonderful and healthy outlet for people to express oneself while exercising the body and having fun. Kathy Meyer, the Dance department chair said, “Master classes benefit the students by providing additional training in a variety of dance genre’s taught within the Dance Department as well as styles not currently offered in the department.”

The master dance classes are available to everyone on campus. It is not desired that a student must be enrolled in dance to attend. Usually taken place on the weekend, Friday through Sunday,  students must enroll previously and pay the fee before attending the classes. Grossmont College’s dance department faculty hand picks each genre and instructor that they would like to feature for the semester. The spring semester master dance classes includes all different types of genres such as; modern, jazz, body rolling, ballet, hip hop, ballet, burlesque, and body rhythm. The master dance classes are also almost half the price as a regular dance class offered at a dance studio.
