Making a New Year’s resolution is easy; the challenging part is completing it. Here are some easy steps on how to make and follow through a resolution.
Students can always have more than one resolution. The more resolutions, the more time and commitment the resolutions are going to require.
Questions
These are some questions that are going to make you reflect on your life and what needs to change. What needs improvement?
What can be improved? It can be easy for some to name, but for others changing a simple thing in their life can be hard. But making a small change in your life takes up time, so don’t rush it.
The Resolution
When the resolution has been chosen, write inspirational messages throughout your home, car and work. Motivation is key into completing the resolution. Though sometimes it can be hard to complete, the more effort and focus, the better the outcome of having a successful resolution.
Goals/ Objectives
By inspiring yourself and setting a weekly goal, it makes it easier to complete the goal. Telling friends and family about the resolution can be helpful. Friends and family and can always keep you on track.
If a friend or family member is also interested in making a New Year’s resolution, it can be easier if done together.
Sidetrack
If by any chance your plans get derailed, remember this a New Year’s resolution, which does not mean you can procrastinate.
If by any chance you procrastinate completing and following through the resolutions, remember why the resolution or resolutions was so important.
Time
A New Year’s resolution can take up months to be completed, and there is always the possibility of having more than one it can take up more time. Time is going to be one of the most important factor in completing a resolution. Stick to it!
Outlook
Is the resolution that was made complete? What was expected? Did it improve anything? Was it successful? These questions help reflect and point out anything new that can be changed for next year. Remember, resolutions are meant to help, not to stress people out.
