Campus work-study funds to be cut off May 13

GROSSMONT COLLEGE — Michael Copenhaver, financial aid director at Grossmont College, has issued the following announcement:

“Due to extreme economic demand and an unexpected increase in the rate of work-study funds being earned, the Grossmont College Financial Aid Office is close to exhausting this year’s allocation of Federal Work-study.  Therefore, we will need to adjust our available timeline for how much longer students may work and be paid out of work-study funds.

“Assuming a student has not already reached their maximum work-study award, the last day any Grossmont College Work-study student can work and be paid from Federal Work-study for the 2010-2011 academic year is Friday, May 13, 2011.  We apologize for any complications or hardships this presents to the students and departments they’re working for.

“Please contact Nadia Almaguer, Frank Williams or Michael Copenhaver if there are any questions or concerns.”
