GROSSMONTCOLLEGE– Health Science Tech Supervisor Pat Murray has been nominated for the 2011 – 2012 California Community Colleges Classified Employees of the Year award.
The award honors community college classified employees who show the highest level of commitment to his or her community college. Recipients are nominated by their colleagues and endorsed by the local Board of Trustees.
Up to six recipients are selected and honored annually at the May Trustees meeting. Classified employees with a minimum of five years of service as a permanent employee within the nominating Community College District (full-time or part-time) are eligible for the award.
The nominees are evaluated on their commitment to: the mission of community colleges; professional ethics and standards; serving the institution through participation in professional and/or community activities; and serving as a leader beyond the local institution. A $500 cash award and plaque is presented to each recipient.
“The nomination alone is a big enough honor.”Murray said.
If she wins the award, Murray told a questioner, “I’ll probably share the plaque in the district’s office for a while, as this award represents our school, and then take it home.”
Murray says she wants to acknowledge many of her colleges such as Dan Lopez for his hard work and dedication. “Not one single thing required to attain this award would have been accomplished without the help of someone I work with.”Murray said.
