GROSSMONT COLLEGE — Representatives of various private colleges and universities vied with one another during the Transfer Fair to sell the merits of their schools to students passing on Tuesday, May 1, on the Main Quad.
To attract Grossmont students to their tables, nearly every college and university offered either an activity, such as putting a golf ball, or some souvenir “swag” — goodies ranging from pencils to hand sanitizers to bookmarks for students to take home and remember them by.
The GC Summit roamed the exhibit area to see what kind of giveaways were available. Following, with colleges and universities shown in alhabetical order, are the results:
Kevin McMackin of Alliant International University offered candy
Nashuna Andrade of Argosy University gave out lanyards
Dave Bibel of Azusa Pacific served cookies
Anthony Torres of Columbia College distributed hand sanitizers
Giovanna Iaffadalno of DeVry University had a bag for students to carry home their swag
Kelly Richardson of Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising offered a CD showing student designs
Maheba Merhi of National University provided Post-It notes
Carissa Chandler of Point Loma Nazarene University carried bookmarks
Dan Lamm of San Diego Christian proffered pens
Melissa Giarrtano of the University of Phoenix gave away pens
