NEW YORK (USANN4)–College costs continue to climb. The College Board reports that in-state tuition and fees at public four-year colleges and universities are up almost eight percent from a year ago. At private four-year institutions, the average cost was also up, climbing four-point-five percent.
Shrinking state budgets are to blame for the hikes at public schools. Over the last decade, public school tuition has risen at an annual rate of five-point-six percent versus three percent at private schools.
