If you have heard of the TRUTH Bible Study Club, it may be because of its presence across San Diego, with chapters established at San Diego State University, UC San Diego and Mesa College. It is a nonprofit student organization focused on prophecies of the Bible, with the aim of identifying teachings to God according to Scripture.
Oscar Montano, a Grossmont student and dedicated member, explained that TRUTH is an acronym for “Taking Real Understanding to Heart.”
“We want students to know the truths of the Bible,” Montano said, adding that they “focus on the teachings strictly based on what Jesus taught 2,000 years ago.”
According to Montano, the Bible holds a more definite truth that is “very different from what is being taught nowadays.” The club, which is non-denominational, is open to Christians and to those who are simply curious about the Bible.
Bible topics that the club goes in depth range from science and world history—prophesied and fulfilled in the Bible—to Jesus’ teachings and His fulfillments of prophecy.
As of now, the club hosts walk-in group Bible studies and individual Bible studies, but future plans include introducing community-service campaigns, Bible seminars and exhibition walk-throughs.
Weekly walk-in Bible studies are held on Tuesdays at noon and Thursdays at 12:30 p.m. For more information or updates on times and locations, contact Truong at [email protected].
