April 2, 2026 Imperial Valley at Grossmont
Imperial Valley uses an offensive eruption to defeat Grossmont 20-7 on April 2 in a Pacific Coast Athletic Conference matchup.
Grossmont started off strong as they opened the game, scoring in the first inning when Owen Rodgers grounded out to first, which allowed Druw Frost on a fielder’s choice and giving the Griffins a 1-0 lead. Imperial Valley quickly answered in the second inning following an RBI single from Leonardo Olea, shortly after Grossmont would retake the lead when Talon Tucker scored on an error in the same inning.
The Arabs were able to take control of the game in the third and fourth inning, combining for a total of seven runs to break the game open. Nicholas Brownyard hit a two run triple in the third inning, with Logan Higginbotham adding a two run single in the fourth. Imperial Valley didn’t stop there as they would continue to add on throughout the rest of the game, which was highlighted by a five-run sixth inning that increased the lead to double digits.
Brownyard led the charge offensively for Imperial Valley, totaling three hits and four RBIs. Higginbotham scored a total of five runs and drove in three, while Tanner Carrenza finished with three hits to go with three RBIs. Leonardo Veliz accounted for three RBIs, with a bases-clearing triple in the sixth inning.
Grossmont strung together some offense late by scoring three runs in the eighth inning. Druw Frost went 3-for-5 with an RBI to lead the offense, with Justin Heffler adding two hits and an RBI. Anthony Thomas added two hits and drove in one.
Imperial Valley pitcher Antonio Gonzalez earned the win after allowing six total runs in seven and two thirds innings. Grossmont used six arms in the loss as they dropped to 18-12 overall and 10-5 in conference play.
April 3, 2026 Grossmont at Imperial Valley
Grossmont responded in a big way as the Griffins defeated Imperial Valley 9-1 on April 3 behind strong pitching and a late inning offensive explosion.
Imperial Valley took an early 1-0 lead in the first inning from an RBI single from Tanner Carranza, but Grossmont would quickly fire back in the second. Anthony Thomas tied the game up at 1-1 with an RBI single that plated Talon Tucker.
Grossmont took the lead in the fifth inning when Justin Heffler hit a sac fly to plate Drake Konja and give Grossmont a 2-1 lead over Imperial Valley. In the same inning, Owen Rodgers would add much needed insurance with a two run single that plated Logan Aguilar and Druw Frost, extending the lead to 4-1.
Grossmont would go on to add more insurance runs late into the game. Logan Aguilar ended up reaching on a defensive miscue in the seventh inning, which allowed Frost to score, with Noah Libed adding an RBI single in the same inning. In the ninth inning, Rogers drove in another run off of a fielder’s choice before Libed would unload on a two-run double and Dominic Crosetti adding an RBI single to wrap up the scoring.
Rodgers led the charge for Grossmont offensively, driving in three total RBIs, while Libed would finish with two RBIs off of three hits. Logan Aguilar recorded two hits and would come into score twice, with Frost scoring twice as well.
On the mound, Zander Allen-Fox secured the win after allowing just one run over five innings while striking out four. Grossmont’s bullpen continued that momentum as they pitched four scoreless innings and secured the victory.
The Griffins finished the game tallying 14 total hits and hope to carry this momentum into their next game.
April 7, 2026 San Diego Mesa at Grossmont
Grossmont completes the comeback due to a six run eighth inning which blew the game open. Grossmont was able to pull away for San Diego Mesa College and secure a 10-5 victory on April 7.
The Griffins found themselves trailing 4-5 entering the bottom of the eighth inning after Mesa was able to score four runs in the top of the inning to take brief control of the game. Grossmont would quickly respond in the same inning with six runs in the bottom half of the inning, they were able to produce walks, and take advantage of defensive miscues from Mesa to blow the game open.
Logan Aguilar highlighted the offense as he finished with two hits, one RBI, and one run scored. Druw Frost was able to add two more RBIs and ended up crossing the plate twice. Noah Libed, Talon Tucker, Drake Konja, and Owen Rodgers all earned RBIs during the win over Mesa.
Grossmont’s offense finished with ten runs on five hits and they were able to draw seven walks.Â
Mesa also had a strong offensive performance as they recorded fourteen hits but could not capitalize on enough of them. Joseph Anderson led the charge offensively, recording three RBIs on three hits, which included the two-run single in the top of the eighth inning that briefly gave Mesa the lead. Jacob Campagna and Ian Pollard were also able to drive in runs for Mesa.
Starting pitcher Destin Allen-Fox had a strong outing for Grossmont as he was able to record thirteen K’s over seven innings while allowing just one earned run. Jacob Howard would be credited for the win in relief, with Zander Allen-Fox closing the game for Grossmont in the ninth inning.
The Griffins improved to 20-12 overall and 12-5 in Pacific Coast Athletic Conference play, with Mesa dropping to 13-19 overall and 8-9 in conference play.Â
April 9, 2026 Grossmont at San Diego Mesa
Grossmont received the loss in a high-scoring matchup against San Diego Mesa 8-16 on April 9 after Mesa blew the game open in the seventh inning that helped pull the game away. With this loss Grossmont drops to 22-11 overall and 14-4 in conference play.
Grossmont’s offense was one of the bright spots throughout the game as they showed plenty of grit offensively, they collected 11 hits and scored in multiple different innings to remain in the game. Druw Frost led the charge offensively as he collected two hits and an RBI, with Talon Tucker producing two RBIs on two hits. Drake Konja had a good day at the plate as well as he collected two hits, which included a double, that drove in two runs. Noah Libed also collected two RBIs, and Logan Aguilar contributed a run in the later innings.
The Griffins found themselves in an early deficit as they trailed early after Mesa scored three runs through four innings, but Grossmont continued to fight as they would respond with a four-run fifth inning to take a brief 4-3 lead over Mesa. Frost initiated the offense with an RBI single before Libed and Tucker would both add key hits to give Grossmont the lead.
Mesa wouldn’t take long to respond as they tied the game in the fifth inning with a home run from Phil Jones before they would have an offensive explosion in the seventh inning while scoring nine runs to retake the lead. Phil Jones and Gianluca Fanelli were each able to drive in multiple runs in that same inning as Mesa was able to take advantage of several walks and clutch hitting.
On the mound, Rowan Haynes was the starting pitcher for Grossmont and he went for five innings while striking out three hitters. Eric Flores would add the relief innings before the Olympians offensive explosion which blew the door wide open.
Despite earning the loss, Grossmont’s offense continued to fight and take good at-bats throughout the game, battling until the very last inning as the Griffins look ahead to more conference play in their near future.Â
April 10, 2026 San Diego Mesa at Grossmont
Grossmont would go on to bounce back in a big way with a dominant 15-5 victory over San Diego Mesa on April 10, highlighted by an offensive explosion in the fifth inning and consistent at-bats throughout the entire game to secure the conference win. The Griffins would improve to 21-13 overall and 13-6 in conference play with this win.
Grossmont’s offense would get started early and they refused to let up, finishing with 19 total hits and scoring in six different innings. Druw Frost led the charge offensively with a monster performance at the plate, collecting three hits, highlighted with a home run, while driving in three runs and crossing the plate three times. Justin Heffler would also have a monster game with three hits, which included a home run and two doubles, while he was able to record four RBIs and score four runs.
Owen Rodgers would tally three hits and three RBIs for Grossmont, while Drake Konja contributed three hits and two RBIs. Talon Tucker would add on offensively while collecting two hits and two RBIs as almost every hitter in the lineup helped to produce more scoring opportunities.
Grossmont jumped on them early in the first inning before Mesa would briefly tie the game in the second inning. The Griffins would go on to regain the momentum in the very next inning as Frost launched a solo home run and Rodgers would follow his lead and hit an RBI double. Grossmont would go on to break the game open in the fifth inning, tallying nine runs behind a series of RBI singles paired with their aggressive baserunning which applied pressure onto Mesa’s pitchers.
On the mound, Zander Allen-Fox would get the start for Grossmont and pitched 4.2 innings allowing three earned runs. Luke Prigmore would earn the win in relief after he threw 2.1 scoreless innings, with Eric Flores coming in to close the game over the final two innings.Â
Carter Lockwood and Gianluca Fanelli would lead the charge offensively for Mesa, while each of them recorded multiple RBIs, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Grossmont’s monster middle innings.
The Griffins had a full team effort at the plate as their balanced attack and clutch hitting led to their bounceback victory in an important conference game as they continue to near the end of the season.Â
April 14, 2026 San Diego City at Grossmont
Grossmont earned a convincing 10-4 win over San Diego City on April 15 after they used a fast start to control the game from the very first inning. With the win, Grossmont improved to 22-13 overall and 14-6 in conference play.
Grossmont wasted zero time offensively, as they scored six runs in the bottom of the first inning, capitalizing on clutch hits and good at-bats. Talon Tucker highlighted the inning with a three-run home run that gave Grossmont the momentum early in the game. Anthony Thomas followed up with an RBI double, and Dominic Crosetti added another RBI single that extended the lead over San Diego City.
Grossmont refused to let up and continued to apply pressure throughout the game, finishing with eight hits and drawing seven walks. Justin Heffler had a strong showing at the plate as he tallied a home run, an RBI, and two runs scored, with Logan Aguilar adding another home run and RBI. Tucker led the charge offensively as he earned four RBIs, and Anthony Thomas collected two RBIs and a double in the win.
On the mound, Destin Allen-Fox earned the win for Grossmont while pitching five innings and allowing just two earned runs while striking out seven. Eric Flores would account for two innings of relief, and the bullpen would continue to limit San Diego City’s offensive pressure in the game.
San Diego City tried to chip away at the deficit with RBIs from Blake Mitchell, Joel Romo, Andrew Keegan, but would ultimately fall short as Grossmont answered with important insurance runs in the eighth inning.
Grossmont’s combination of early offense and timely hitting helped secure the win in another important conference game. Grossmont will continue to try and finish the season strong and continue securing conference victories.
May 1, 2026 Cuesta vs. Grossmont
Grossmont escaped with a narrow victory over Cuesta 8-7 on May 1 in a game that would come down to the wire. This win was much needed and marked a bounce-back performance for the Griffins as they continue to improve in conference play.
Cuesta took an early lead as they jumped on Grossmont’s pitching, scoring three runs in the first inning and continuing to add on in the middle innings to maintain the lead for most of the game. Grossmont’s offense would continuously respond throughout the game as they were constantly chipping away at the lead as they had to keep up with Cuesta offensively.
Justin Heffler led the charge for the Griffins offensively, driving in multiple hits and accounting for crucial runs, which included a clutch two-RBI hit that was the turning point late in the game. Logan Aguilar and Druw Frost also had good days at the plate, as they combined for several hits and key RBIs that were crucial towards the comeback. Owen Rodgers also accounted for timely hits as Grossmont continued to pressure Cuesta’s pitching staff.
The game was close neck and neck up until the later innings, when Grossmont was able to piece together a rally offensively, as they were able to take advantage of defensive miscues and capitalize on offensive opportunities to capture the lead. Grossmont was ultimately able to hold off Cuesta’s late offensive push and squeezed out a narrow one-run victory.
On the mound, Rowan Haynes opened the game and was able to keep the game close until Eric Flores would come in and earn the win, shutting the door on a potential comeback from Cuesta.
Cuesta’s offense was led by Jak Sinclair and Gavin Colombo, who each accounted for runs early, but the offense wasn’t enough to continue throughout the game.
Grossmont’s gritty offense and timely hits were the difference in a competitive game, as the Griffins were able to close out the game and leave with a comeback victory.Â
May 2, 2026 Grossmont vs. Allan Hancock (Game 1)
Grossmont fell short in a close game that resulted in a narrow 5-4 victory for Allan Hancock on May 2 in a competitive game that was ultimately decided in the later innings. The loss dropped the Griffins to 26-16 overall.
The game was back and forth and stayed competitive until the final out. Both teams exchanged hits and scored runs early. Allan Hancock struck first and continued to build a small lead throughout the middle innings, Grossmont would respond with important hits to keep the game within striking distance.
Anthony Thomas accounted for the home run that would be the turning point in the game for the Griffins, that jumpstarted the offense and woke their bats up. Justin Heffler continued his hot streak offensively, as he accounted for multiple hits and drove in multiple runs, with Talon Tucker providing a crucial RBI late that allowed Grossmont to stay in it.
On the mound, Zander Allen-Fox earned the loss as he allowed multiple earned runs over five innings. Elliot Kim entered the game in relief and was able to limit the damage, this gave Grossmont a chance for a late game rally.
Grossmont ended up making a strong late inning push, scoring runs in the eighth inning which cut the deficit to just one. Allen Hancock’s pitching staff would ultimately settle down and hold on as they secured a narrow 5-4 win over the Griffins.
Grossmont showed signs of life and remained gritty throughout the game, but ultimately too many missed opportunities and runs allowed were too much for the Griffins to overcome.
May 3, 2026 Allan Hancock vs. Grossmont (Game 2)
Grossmont earned a series victory with a strong performance in a competitive game, defeating Allan Hancock 7-5 on May 3 in a hard earned victory at home. With the win the Griffins improved to 27-16 overall as they were able to earn a much needed victory after a heartbreaking loss the previous day.
Grossmont’s offense contributed in crucial moments, they got started early and would continue to add on throughout the game to hold onto the lead. Justin Heffler highlighted the offensive performance with a monster three-run home run that helped shift momentum in favor of the Griffins. Offensively, Talon Tucker and Owen Rodgers would contribute with RBIs, with Noah Libed adding a crucial hit that ended up accounting for multiple runs that would extend the lead.
The Griffins would continue their hot start offensively and continued taking advantage of scoring opportunities, they put continuous pressure on Allan Hancock’s pitching. Allan Hancock would respond with a late game push, but Grossmont was ultimately able to hold on and close out the game.
On the mound, Noah Libed was able to earn the win, pitching a strong game and limiting damage, allowing for Grossmont to control the game. Luke Prigmore came in late and was able to shut the door on Allan Hancock, securing the final outs and closing the game.
Allan Hancock’s offensive attack was led by Granite Seibt, who accounted for a home run and ended up tallying multiple runs, which struck momentum and almost led to a late game rally. However, the late game rally would end up falling just short as Grossmont’s offensive attack proved to be too difficult to overcome.
May 3, 2026 Grossmont vs. Allan Hancock (Game 3)Â
Grossmont lost a 6-3 game to Allan Hancock on May 3, ultimately falling short in a contest where clutch hitting would be the difference in the closely contested game.
The Griffins offense was able to strike early, they were able to take advantage of an error by Allan Hancock in the first inning. Grossmont would continue to add onto their lead in the fourth inning with Talon Tucker accounting for a huge two-run home run, leading to a pitching change and giving Grossmont a cushion with a 3-0 lead.
Allan Hancock would strike back in the middle innings, continuing to chip away at the deficit before they were ultimately able to take the lead and control over the game. Multiple RBI hits, highlighted by a triple from Jacob McMilan and crucial singles from Parker Schwake, and Chase wise, provided a spark into the offense and fueled a multi run stretch. Allan Hancock was able to build a strong lead and by the seventh inning the game was almost definitely out of reach.
Grossmont struggled to gain any traction offensively after the fourth inning, and they tallied just six total hits for the game. Tucker led the offense with two RBIs, with Druw Frost and Logan Aguilar each contributing hits in a sluggish offensive performance. The early offense would dry out and the offense couldn’t get anything going throughout the rest of the game.
On the mound, Dominic Crosetti was credited for the loss while allowing multiple hits throughout his outing. The bullpen was able to provide some additional relief, but it was not enough to stop Allan Hancock’s continuous offensive pressure. Trevor Jure would be credited with the victory for Allan Hancock, Hunter Beck was able to close out the game shutting the door on any potential rally from Grossmont.
