State Department eases visa rules for Iranian students

WASHINGTON, D.C (USANN4)–Iranian students will have an easier time going to school here in the U.S.   This comes after the State Department announced it is changing its visa rules for them.   The change will make it easier for Iranians to travel in and out of the U.S.   In the past, they had been allowed only single-entry visas.

That meant if they left the U.S., they had to apply for a new visa if they wished to return.   Students in, quote, “non-sensitive, non-technical fields of study and research” will be eligible to receive two-year, multiple-entry visas.   The Institute of International Education says there are about 4,700 Iranian students in the U.S.
