When students enter the Grossmont campus bookstore at the beginning of the semester, they are shocked to find an outrageous total during check out. Most college students have to seek out alternative sources to cover the expenses of college student life.
There are many different options offered to students at the campus bookstore. Renting books, eTextbooks and buying used books are all alternatives to buying a brand new edition and helps students save money.
Renting textbooks allows students to pay half of the amount of the original price of a book now, and return the book by the end of the semester. The return date for rentals this semester is June 4, which allows students plenty of time to study for finals and finish the semester. Many students find this option to be extremely helpful and well suited for them.
eTextbooks are a cheaper alternative and helps save paper. This may benefit students who are constantly on their laptop or computer, and have too many books to carry on a daily basis.
With the eTextbook, students can access the book on up to two computers. There is also an opportunity to rent the eTextbook, which allows students with computers to take advantage of that offer as well.
Used textbooks are a lot cheaper than the brand new ones. These books are bought back from students for a fraction of the price that was originally paid. This is a great option for students who like to take notes in the book and do not want to damage a brand new book.
The option to order books online, for all three alternatives is also available. The bookstore site makes it extremely easy for students to find books needed for courses. Once the class information is entered, a list of necessary textbooks for that course appears. An order can be placed within minutes to rent, buy new or used textbooks (some classes also give the option to buy the eTextbook).
Appearing on the home screen for the online Grossmont bookstore site is a tab for Student Offers. This allows students to get special offers from companies and services that may make the student’s school experience a bit easier.
