FOLSOM, California (USANN4)–A California community college professor has cancelled a controversial plan to increase students’ grades. The Sacramento Bee reports that Bernard Gibson, a business professor at Folsom Lake College, offered to increase students’ grades if they raised money for the school’s foundation.
Gibson told his marketing students he would raise their grades a half-step if they raised $25. He offered to raise their grades a whole grade if they raised $50 or more. The plan drew criticism, and Gibson later canceled it.
