CHICAGO (USANN4)–A new audit has turned up more financial management problems at one Illinois university. The Chicago Tribune reports that the latest state audit of Chicago State University has uncovered 41 problems. That’s up from 13 from the previous year.
The school is not disputing any of the audit’s findings. They include misspending federal grant funds, paying vendors more than contracted amounts, and failing to send tuition bills to students. The audit is the first since Wayne Watson took office as Chicago State’s president in 2009.
